I worked with Bombay Mami on her music videos, magazine shoots and live performances, from 2023-25.
Creating custom pieces, on-shoot draping, sari-tying and costumes for her dancers.
Working with Tashan and stylist Jonni Boi on the image of Bombay Mami was a great opportunity for me to lean into an opulent, draped and bejewelled style.
THE MAKING OF
BOMBAY MAMI
I used a variety of materials when making some of Bombay Mami's outfits;
fake flowers, gold-leafing, bridal fabrics, 10-minute turbans, recycled materials, hot glue and lots of crystals.
Some things were made to last - for performance and editorial, and others made completely in the moment - whole gowns made from fabric in-between shoot set-ups.
